Tuesday, October 14, 2025
7:00 PM, Eastern Time
Nemeth Garage
- Called to Order at 7:01 PM. Present: Jeff C, Greg A, Pete S, Jon N, Al P, Joe C, Casey S, Bob B, Mike C
- Minutes approved from September (Casey, Bob).
- Presidents Report: Discussed the odd exchange with Lakewood Estates new Treasurer who completely misunderstood the Pick-em fundraiser and then declined Lakewood’s share. Discussion about how much we are raising this year (less than last year) and possibly reducing weekly winnings to $5. We may discontinue as an MSLIA event next year if we don’t increase participation. Discussed ongoing lake level issue and Jeff volunteered to send a letter to Oakland County indicating our dissatisfaction.
- Vice President: Will look into using a service like Jiffy to print new MSLIA wearables. Still looking into printed cups and insulating sleeves.
- Secretary Report: No report
- Treasurers Report: Went over the report. Went over budget for next year – will vote on it in November after everyone reviews.
- Standing Committee reports:
a. Social – Tentative dates for upcoming events: Euchre January 10 and Winter Party January 31.
b. Water Quality – Al to look into executing the Restorative quote for a lake study including all of our requested services for $19,580. We will forego the fish study portion as it was deemed unnecessarily expensive.
c. Ecology/Biology – Awaiting final details on the availability of 485 Large Mouth Bass. Joe has contacted Oakland Harvesters and will obtain a quote before next meeting. Will also try to find other harvesting companies to get competitive quotes.
d. Lake Safety – No report but health issues are much better.
e. Public Relations – Absent
f. Government Relations – No report.
g. Associations – None present. - Old Business – None
- New Business – Mike C would like to put together an effort to figure out accountability in the permitting and inspections of seawalls and construction. He is aware of several residents that have had exceptional difficulty in finalizing projects with conflicting guidance given by the township. This was also discussed at the summer meeting and Rep. Noah Arbit was interested in helping us. Next meeting November 11th will be at Bob Barbour’s house. Adjourned 8:06 PM
