MSLIA July 2023 Monthly Meeting Minutes

Campbell Residence
- Called to Order at 7:11 PM. Present: Chip C, Jeff C, Greg A, Matt U, Sarah O, Al P, Jon N
- Minutes approved from May (Jon N, Al P).
- Presidents Report: Discussion on lake level pump progress (none) Lien filings, top 10 balances had lien filed except Yono who paid. Will discuss goose removal, swag and Westacres and Winterberry.
- Vice President: Ordered hats and ¼ zip pullovers and have sold $1300 so far. Need to have link to merchandise on website. Will order custom cups for summer party.
- Secretary Report: Will obtain legal opinion on filing a lien on Outlot L once the boat dock case concludes. Will inquire weather the lakeview lots are paying a lake level assessment.
- Treasurers Report: Went over report. Jeff will remind TBCA to pay their dues. Weeding should start 7/18 and need to notify Eldora residents ASAP. Total of liens filed was $69,000 with $60,000 of that representing late payment penalties.
- Standing Committee reports
a. Social – Summer party is set for 8/26 in the bay. Mike C is looking into the logistics of a euchre tournament this fall/winter. Approved Matt’s parade winners but they only get older swag, not the brand new merch.
b. Water Quality – Submitted phosphorous samples in the spring and will submit again in the fall. Performing Secchi disk readings and will upload in the fall.
c. Ecology/Biology – Discussion on goose issue. Matt U will set up a subcommittee and invite Kathleen Jennens and anyone else interested to join.
d. Lake Safety – Have seen issues with jetskis – need to remind members of rules and ask them to call non-emergency OC Sheriff to report problems. Ron Flannery is approved to purchase a megaphone and be reimbursed by MSLIA
e. Public Relations – no report.
f. Government Relations – no report.
g. Associations – CEBIA – Summer party next weekend. Would like it publicized, will have music, games of kids, dinner and beer. $25 with beer, $15 without. Need the weeding timing so they can pull their swim ropes in. - New Business – Jeff will check with Bay Pointe developer to determine progress and timing.
- Old Business – Next meeting either Matt Ureste residence or Mike Caruso pontoon. Meeting adjourned 8:40 PM
