•  Weed harvesting – The MSLIA has hired a different firm for the 2026 weed harvest. The contractor is a local company with much newer equipment. A big benefit is that all of the machines are GPS tracked which will be shared with us to verify which areas of the lake were cut.  This firm is significantly more expensive but we hope this will address the shortcomings that many of you have pointed out.
  • The crew will be out on July 8^th to do their scanning and mapping, with weed cutting officially kicking off on Monday July 13^th.

• Middle Straits Lake Fishing Tournament – Saturday, September 12^th –
  • Start Time – 6:00 AM
  • End Time – 12:15 PM
  • Entry Fee – $20 – 2 People Max
    • +$5 Fee for the Biggest Bass
    • +$5 Fee for Biggest Pike

Past Events

• Boat Parade – 14^th Annual Boat Independence Day Boat Parade will start at 7 PM on July 4^th at the east end of the lake and will navigate around the lake. Decorate your boat and bring your friends, or cheer everyone on from shore! The social committee will award a prize to the best decorated boat.

• Summer Party – Saturday, June 20^th
  • We are planning to hold the annual summer party a little earlier in the year to provide a kick-off to the summer boating season.
  • Stay tuned for more information about the poker run and party.

• 2026 Euchre tournament – Saturday, January 10^th – 6 PM to 9 PM – CEBIA Clubhouse – 7850 Detroit Blvd
  • Target number of players – 48 max 
  • 6 matches of 8 hands per match
  • Unlimited points
  • Highest number of points wins
  • Each person plays as an individual
  • Registration fee $40 per person
  • We will provide snacks and beverages

• Winter Party – Saturday, February 28^th – 1 PM to 4 PM on the ice in front of Twin Beach Park at the east end of the lake
  • Save the date for the annual winter party on the lake – weather permitting and hopefully in conjunction with the Twin Beach Chili Cook-off
  • We will supply warming fires, hot dogs and chips, and beverages

Twin Beach Park Association will not be held responsible for any injuries or accidents that may occur while at the TBPA or on the lake during Winterfest.

• March Madness Fundraiser –
  • 25 per bracket – buy as many as you want.  Zelle or PayPal to lakeboard@mslia.org, and then please shoot us an email to the same address (We don’t see the memo field for Zelle transactions).
  • No million dollar prize here but enter for your chance at MSL glory.  
  • Pick better than everyone else and win half of the funds collected. It makes basketball fans out of even the most casual observers.
